Subconscious Emotions and How to Deal with Them

Subconscious Emotions and How to Deal with Them

Emotions are messages from the subconscious mind and it is possible to use these messages for more productive behavior.

In the Past

In the past, maybe you were often consumed by the misery of negative messages: fear, anxiety, anger, frustration, and envy. Plus, while feeling miserable, you were unable to achieve what it was you desired at the time. In other words, remaining in these emotional states prevented you from accomplishing what you desired, and it was all your fault.

Focus on the Present

Once you realize that these emotions are just messages that indicate you need to do something different, you can set them aside and move away from them quickly. This can be done by acknowledging that the emotion is just a message. Then ask your subconscious mind: How can I…? or What do I need to do to…? Asking these questions assigns your subconscious mind the task of finding a way to move forward swiftly and effectively. Once you’ve asked these questions, shift your attention to something you can achieve using your conscious mind.

Learn to Trust the Subconscious

It’s natural to wonder if you have the ability or confidence in your subconscious mind to do this. As with everything we do in life, we must learn. Here a couple of suggestions that may help, plus there are great books on the subject as well:

  • After several unsuccessful conscious efforts to find a way to do something, clear your mind and breathe. Allow the solution to find you. Once you find your way to this openness, you will learn that your subconscious will provide what you need when you need it.

  • Test your subconscious mind by setting your alarm for the time you want to wake up, and then tell your subconscious that you want to wake up 5 minutes earlier.

You will notice that after you experience the above for a few days, you have gained complete confidence in your subconscious mind.

When faced with an emotion, remind yourself that it’s only a message. Remember to ask your subconscious mind: How can I experience this positive emotion more frequently? What do I need to do to replace my feelings of fear, anxiety, frustration, anger, envy, or procrastination with joy, peace, and fulfillment? Then immediately move forward to conscious activities. With some practice and a little time you might be amazed at how much easier and more enjoyable life becomes.
